About 18 years ago, my Father and I found ourselves thinking, there must be a better way.
Growing up I worked at Dickson’s Service Center, which most would call a gas station, but not my Father - to him everything was about providing great service.
And so, from an early age my sisters, Gigi and Kim, and I were taught the importance of putting others first, and have made it a part of our family culture ever since.
Our goal has always been to over-deliver and give more than was expected. So, when my Father and I found ourselves suffering in similar positions with our health… And not receiving the service we’d grown accustomed to give…
We made it our mission to find a better way and share it with everyone else!
Both my father and I had lived in chronic discomfort for years. Pain lead to the hospital, which led to surgery and then medication.
My father was fed up with not feeling like himself and determined to find whatever means necessary to ensure neither of us would have to go through this again. He was on the hunt for an all natural way to treat his ailments and take back his health.
For years he tried anything he could get his hands on... only to be constantly disappointed. He tried MSM, Fish Oil, CoQ10, he changed his diet, and nothing seemed to work.
He was left discouraged and distrusting of the supplements industry as a whole.
And then, one day my father found OPC Antioxidants.
He was so impressed with how OPC Antioxidants made him feel - he insisted we all take them! I was intrigued by his enthusiasm, so over the next 6 months I set out to learn everything there was to know about his precious OPCs.
I came to discover that oxidative stress is the imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants. I was curious if our health issues could be a result of this imbalance. I came across a list of all the different ailments linked to oxidative stress and saw both mine and my Father’s ailments on it!
From that moment on I committed to making OPC Antioxidants a part of my daily routine and insisted my family do so as well.
The problem at the time was OPC Antioxidants weren’t nearly as easy to find then as they are now. We had to rely on an “Independent Distributor” to get our OPC’s. We often struggled to find reliable distributors and were frustrated when we were not able to consistently get our OPC.
Frustrated, but determined, we thought - could we make it ourselves?
Equipped with my newfound knowledge of OPC Antioxidants, and my own personal experience, I began contacting pharmaceutical grade supplement companies, and after working with the chemists at each company, we contracted with one of the largest supplement manufacturers certified by the FDA to make our own OPCXtra.
In doing this we uncovered the astronomical prices our competitors were charging, and realized that’s what happens when you have to compensate many levels of the pyramid.
So as a Family we committed to always providing our solutions direct to our customers at an affordable price with the reliable service my Father prided himself on from the very beginning of Dickson’s Service Center!
Now, we certainly aren’t perfect, and we’ve had our ups and downs on this journey, but there is a reason why we’ve been fortunate enough to serve over 20,000 customers since we began OptiHealth Products in 2001.
